Tipton Park Conversation Café #2

Water the focus at September 22 café

The community continued to shape its vision for water at Tipton Park at a Conversation café held at Queen Alexandra hall on September 22. Ideas about water revolved around natural features such as a stream or rock bed with a walking bridge, pathways, benches and gazebo, and spray deck features that would incorporate a natural feel in design and color. There was also discussion around water efficiency and re-use of water, and looking into relocating the water area to a sunnier location. A common theme was Tipton Park as a natural space for relaxation, reflection, and nature play and exploration. See the attachment below for a summary of discussion.

In October the Tipton Park Redevelopment Committee will work with a city landscape architect and may interview suppliers to see if and how the community vision for the park can be realized and associated cost and resource requirements. We hope to create a draft water feature option with the architect and present the draft at the next Conversation Café on Thursday, November 3 from 7 to 9 pm at the Queen Alexandra hall (10424 University Avenue).
