Open House: Rollie Miles Athletic Field District Park Master Plan

The Rollie Miles Athletic Field Master Plan Project would like to hear from you!

In 2013 and 2014, the City of Edmonton began to collect information from the community and primary users to understand more about the recreational activities that were important in this park. This fall, we want to share with you what we have learned in a presentation that will start at 7 p.m. We would also like to hear from you on the future renewal of Rollie Miles District Park.

Programs & Activities

Programs

The Programs Committee is responsible for developing and implementing programs of interest to its members. The Committee needs your ideas for what you would like to see happening in your neighbourhood. What programs do you want to the League to offer? You don’t need to know all the details or all the procedures to make it happen— that’s where the Committee can help. The Committee can help recruit volunteers & instructors to run the programs, and attract registrants for the program. Your program can be for a few sessions, weekly, monthly or more. If it needs instructors, equipment, supplies, or space— no problem, we can work it out! Maybe it’s just in the suggestion stage –  let’s talk (or email) about it!

Some current & past League programs include:

  • Summer Playground (Green Shack) Program
  • Friday Playgroup
  • Queen Alexandra Community League 50th Anniversary History Project
  • Yoga & fitness classes
  • City Zoning & Planning Academy

If you have an idea for a program, or would like to volunteer, contact the Program Chair, Julie Kusiek, at programs [at] qacl [dot] ca.

Social Activities

The Social Committee is responsible for social events and activities for League members of all ages. Current & past social activities include:

  • Annual Holiday Party
  • Potluck Dinners
  • Ping Pong Pub Nights

Currently, this committee is looking for more people to serve on it. If you would like to volunteer, or just have an idea for a League social event, contact the League or attend the League's monthly general meeting.
